Make Grid – Key Visual

In late 2024, Make.com was launching their latest feature – Make Grid – and needed an impactful visual to accompany the launch. Since Make’s Grid is a user interface arranged in 3D isometric space, we developed a creative concept that would show a stylized version of that interface also in 3D isometric space, with big 3D letters taking center stage and forming the word “GRID”. If I had to describe the style of this key visual, it would sit at the cross section of Tron and neon aesthetics. Below is a few images showing the final result, process and context ↓

Client: Make

2024

The final result

Make’s CEO introducing Make Grid with the key visual taking literal center stage at Make’s Waves ‘24 conference

Make Grid features a 3D isometric user interface

I sketched up a few ideas to serve as a starting point for discussion

3D letters shading and gradients – detail

Connections between the GRID letters and Modules featured energy flow “pulses” to symbolize the flow of information

Other variants were also created and considered

However, the second variant with a zig-zag letter arrangement and a more subtle platform was selected
